A new civic party for Vancouver launched Wednesday called A Better City, which aims to tackle the partisan bickering that derails important problems like housing.
said“We have been confronted by the divisiveness of politics during a time of crisis: bikes versus cars, renters versus owners, the housed versus the homeless,” party chair Stephen Molnar and vice-chair Wendy Hartley said in a statement. “We are tired of it. We demand A Better City.”
The news comes at the same time as a longtime Liberal public affairs strategist, Mark Marissen, announced he is going to run for the mayor of Vancouver.
Marissen’s announcement is not connected to the new party.
